Now Go See it.

Your guidebook is great but what's with all the churches?

That question lead me to create Now Go See It, a collection of experiences to help enhance your travels and to increase your desire to visit and explore new places.

After a few trips abroad I discovered that most guidebooks like to focus on sites that were of little interest to me while glazing over or completely omitting things that have been the most memorable parts of my travels.

There's only so many churches I can walk into before they all start to look the same.  Sure, gazing up at the gothic towers of the Cologne Cathedral must not be missed, but there’s more to a city than a couple of beautiful old buildings.

Then there's the museum.  Perhaps I should pretend to have a deep appreciation for ancient art, or that I enjoy the paleontological importance of a spoon carved from the shin of an ox, but I just don't really have any interest.  Yet every guidebook painstakingly lists every museum with great detail.  If that's your thing, have at it, but I didn't travel around the globe to see something a Google image search or a quick Wikipedia read could have covered.

Instead Now Go See It will feature walks through neighborhoods filled with local people, shops, tasty treats and memorable sights.  We'll take the off the beaten path routes that most interest us.

"Life's too short to not ride a panda car."

I will also unapologetically include reviews of theme parks.  Shun me if you must pretentious travel guidebooks, but I will encourage any man, woman, or child to climb onto an electric, drivable panda car in the heart of Tokyo. It's just fun and I want to.

I travel with my partner of ten years and bring the viewpoint of a gay couple in their late thirties (or perhaps early forties). I will include tips and tricks that we have learned, my favorite itineraries, cost saving tips and planning advice. Thanks for joining me on our travels. I hope I can inspire your journeys.
